Wedding to Prom

This dress was originally a plain white wedding dress that was purchased on sale for $50 from a bridal shop. After finding creative freedom with this dress, the additional fabric was purchased to embellish it. The rose gold sequence seen on the bodice was purchased on a tan mesh fabric which was then cut out to create this pattern along the bodice. The sparkly chiffon is lined with silk which was hand sewn to the fabric and then added with snaps to the skirt of the dress. This allows the wearer to remove the chiffon skirt as they please. Since this dress was already constructed, the additional fabrics that were added were all hand-sewn to the dress.

Thrift Flip

With the start of COVID- 19, Nikki has spent time learning how to upcycle old clothing. These clothing items were originally thrifted from Goodwill and transformed into something that is affordable and in style.

With 3 pairs of jeans and 3 pairs of shorts from her late grandmother, Nikki created a patchwork denim jacket that is lined with flannel.

Painted Accessories

With COVID-19 happening in the world around her, she spent a lot of time exploring painting with acrylic on different fabrics. This paved the way for her most of her commissions.
